Lookalikes & traps
Promo stamps and prerelease marks sit beside Born of the Gods Promos art. Confirm the promo set code rather than assuming booster-pack PBNG. Also watch foil vs nonfoil: sheen does not change which set Born of the Gods Promos is.
Confirm after the icon
Bottom information line should show collector number + set code PBNG (and usually a C/U/R/M rarity letter). On Born / Gods Promos, mismatch between listing title and PBNG is the usual bait-and-switch.
How to identify Born of the Gods Promos cards
- 1
Locate the Born of the Gods Promos set mark (PBNG) before you trust the card name — reprints reuse names across products.
- 2
Use symbol color for draft rarity on PBNG, then treat showcase/borderless as a separate finish check.
- 3
Verify PBNG on the bottom line; listings that only show the card name are where Born of the Gods Promos get mixed with siblings.
- 4
If icon and PBNG still disagree with a marketplace title, scan with Tappr rather than guessing from art.
Rarity by symbol color
Special product (promo): rarity color may still follow modern conventions when a symbol is present, but SKU/treatment beats draft-rarity folklore. Verify PBNG and the collector number before comparing to a main-set printing of Born.
Legend shows the modern post-Exodus palette. Pre-Exodus sets and special rarities (for example Time Spiral purple timeshifted) follow the rarity reading above — not this swatch row alone.
