Common mistakes

On Avacyn Restored, the usual miss is buying sealed EV stories instead of the actual chase list. Money still clusters around Avacyn Restored / Cavern; treating the whole list like one price tier is how people overpay bulk. Also: Avacyn Restored (2012, Modern-era paper) gets mixed into lots that are not the same product — match set code avr before the art.

What to check first

First: whether the card is standard-legal chase or eternal only. On Avacyn Restored / Cavern, do condition under light before grade talk. Then use the Avacyn Restored checklist for gaps — sealed is not a plan for the expensive row.
