Lookalikes & traps
Promo stamps and prerelease marks sit beside Magic Online Promos art. Confirm the promo set code rather than assuming booster-pack PRM. Also watch foil vs nonfoil: sheen does not change which set Magic Online Promos is.
Confirm after the icon
Confirm whether PRM exists on paper. If the card is digital-only, identification stops there — Tappr will not invent a paper market row.
How to identify Magic Online Promos cards
- 1
Locate the Magic Online Promos set mark (PRM) before you trust the card name — reprints reuse names across products.
- 2
Apply Exodus-era color rules only: no mythic orange on PRM cards from 2002.
- 3
Verify PRM on the bottom line; listings that only show the card name are where Magic Online Promos get mixed with siblings.
- 4
If icon and PRM still disagree with a marketplace title, scan with Tappr rather than guessing from art.
Rarity by symbol color
Digital / Arena-adjacent product (PRM): do not assume paper rarity-color habits map to a sellable paper printing. Confirm whether a paper card with this set code even exists before reading black/silver/gold/orange as a buylist signal.
Legend shows the modern post-Exodus palette. Pre-Exodus sets and special rarities (for example Time Spiral purple timeshifted) follow the rarity reading above — not this swatch row alone.
