Edgar Markov: The Whole Brood Attacks
A tribal vampire aggro deck that floods the board and drains life fast.
Estimated budget
~$280 – $420

Strategy
Edgar Markov discounts every other vampire spell just by sitting in the command zone, and creates three 1/1 vampire tokens with eminence whenever he attacks, letting the deck flood the board quickly and cheaply. Bloodline Keeper and Captivating Vampire keep generating and stealing threats, while Sanguine Bloodwitch and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet turn combat damage into direct life loss, closing out games fast in a format usually built around slower value plans.
Strengths
- ✓ Extremely fast for a Commander deck
- ✓ Eminence and token generation create a wide, resilient board
- ✓ Multiple ways to drain life directly, bypassing blockers
Weaknesses
- ✗ Board wipes are devastating against a wide, low-toughness board
- ✗ Relies heavily on Edgar Markov staying in play or the command zone
- ✗ Can run out of gas if the initial attack is stopped

Common questions
01 How fast can this deck actually kill?
A well-executed game can end by turn seven or eight in a four-player pod, which is unusually quick for Commander.
02 What is this deck's worst matchup?
Decks with efficient, repeatable board wipes are the toughest opponents, since the vampire tokens and small creatures that make up most of the board have little individual resilience.
